The Bayashi Cleaning Philosophy

Deeply rooted in the Japanese culture is the importance of a clean home

At Bayashi Cleaning we follow the Japanese philosophy of cleaning that is so deeply rooted in our culture.

In Shintoism, the ancient religion of Japan, good is associated with cleanliness, and evil with dirtiness. In the Shinto faith cleanliness is not next to godliness, it is godliness. Cleaning is seen as a form of purification that cleanses the air and wards away bad spirits, so a clean and well organized home is vital for a happy life. It is a space that all can be welcome in and enjoy.

Raised between Canada and Japan, Louis Shimabayashi was introduced to cleaning early in life. In Japan young students are taught the importance of cleanliness, responsibility, and pride in ones environment by taking turns cleaning their classrooms, bathrooms, and schoolgrounds at the end of each school day. Then he persevered, working as a cleaner for the school alongside his university studies. Until recently he was living on Prince Edward Island where he continued his cleaning and property maintenance career at his families cottage rental business - Millstream Cottages.

Louis Shimabayashi is passionate about his Japanese roots and wants to share this with Squamish and Whistler by providing the highest possible standard of service to each and every home he visits, without discrimination. We would be happy to tailor a service to whatever needs you may require.
